Despite cooler weather, during winter Sydney actually enjoys quite a few clear, sunny days. This makes it the perfect opportunity to install a new solar system at your home.

Less than a quarter of the time during winter does Sydney experience more than 1mm of rain. That means about 85% of the time, we have clear, sunny weather during the cooler months. Against popular opinion, solar PV panels are not more efficient when the temperature is extremely high. The truth is, the performance of many systems actually decreases under very warm conditions of more than 35 degrees. Sydney’s winter temperature averages just 19 degrees and when combined with lots of clear blue skies, it makes it the perfect time to install your rooftop solar PV system to start generating free electricity. Just think of all the energy you currently use to heat your home and then imagine if your solar system offset your electricity bill and you saved all that money!
With spring and summer being the busiest period for many solar installers, you may have to wait slightly longer for your install during these times. If you arrange to install your new system during the slower period during winter, chances are your system will be installed quicker. This means that come summer you’re already generating clean energy and saving big bucks.
We all know that winter is not as hot as our summers, but our abundant sunny days will help your system produce plenty of electricity. Additionally, STCs phase out on the first of January each yearso we recommend getting solar on your roof asap to get the most savings possible.
